Daniel Flatt Obituary
Alton - Daniel W. Flatt, 79, passed away 12:10 a.m. January 11, 2022 at Alton Memorial Hospital. He was comforted by his family at his bedside. Daniel was the son of Fred and Geneva (Bowers) Flatt. He was born July 19, 1942 in Berdan, IL, the fourth son of nine children (Roland, Robert, Roberta, Larry Eugene, Doris, Eva, Linda and Lyndell). On August 17, 1979 Daniel married Sharon (Von Behren). She survives. Daniel was enlisted in the Army serving his country for six years. He retired from Ford Motor Company after 31 years of employment. He enjoyed 20 plus years of retirement, fishing, camping and spending the winter months in Florida. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Roland, Roberta, Larry Eugene, Doris and Eva. Along with his wife Sharon, he is survived by his children, Dwayne (Cathilynne) Flatt, Dinah McNear, Geanna Antrobus, Ann (Danny) Stahl, and Carrie (Mike) Nash, grandchildren, Michael, Katie, Lindsey, Jamie (Andy), Tommy, Megan (Keenan), Emily, Daniel, Braden and Allison, great grandchildren, Corrine, Kinsey, Sydney, Cylee and Layne. Also surviving are his siblings, Robert, Linda and Lyndell. Services have been postponed to a later date. Memorials may be made to the 5A's Animal Shelter. Danny was an amazing man! My father and him rode to work together for years and became great friends! After my father passed everytime I'd see Danny he'd hug me tight and cry trying to explain how great of a guy my father was! Danny had a heart of gold! He will be missed! Condolences to the family!
