DAVID WOCK
JERSEYVILLE — David Alan Wock, 61, died at 10:10 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017 at Jerseyville Manor Nursing Home after a battle with diabetes and kidney disease.
He was born in Jerseyville on March 13, 1956, one of eight children born to John F. "Jack" and Barbara (Miller) Wock.
David was raised on the family farm, and learned early on the value of a intense work ethic. After graduating in 1974 from Jersey Community High School, David immediately began his lifelong commitment to his farm. His contentment was found in his work and he took great pride in the finished products.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Jerseyville, Illinois Beef Association, and was a past board member of the Jersey Farmers Elevator.
He married the former Rosemary Perdun on Dec. 5, 1980 at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Jerseyville, and their 36 year marriage was blessed with two sons and three granddaughters.
Surviving are his wife, Rosemary Wock of Jerseyville; his parents, Jack and Barb Wock of Jerseyville; two sons, Ryan Wock and Marc Wock both of Jerseyville; his three grandchildren, Aubrey, Faith and Sawyer Wock; four brothers and sisters in law, Michael and Mary Marg Wock of Heyworth, Robert and Kathy Wock of Jerseyville, Paul and Julie Wock of Jerseyville, Steve and Stacy Wock of Jerseyville; three sisters and brothers in law, Sue and Mark Cutright of St. Peters, Missouri, Rosemary Branham of Jerseyville, and Judy and Jim Nanney of Jerseyville; many nieces and nephews, who will always remember his as "Uncle Dollar"; his mother in law, JoAnn Perdun of Jerseyville; and his brothers in law and sisters in law, Greg Perdun of Kane, Richard and Diane Heitzig of Jerseyville, and Richard and Mary Kay Perdun of Jerseyville.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Marie Wock and Lennie "L.E." and Esther Lamb; and his father in law, Howard "Dick" Perdun.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m., Tuesday at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Jerseyville, with Father Steve Pohlman officiating.
He will be laid to rest in the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery in Jerseyville.
Memorials may be given to the St. Francis/Holy Ghost Catholic Schools of Jerseyville or to the Jersey County 4-H Foundation.
