Donna J. Thornton, 67, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2023 with her family by her side.
She was born on January 20, 1955 in Wood River, IL. Donna is the daughter of Otis and Nora (McManus) Wikoff.
Donna married Terry Thornton on August 2, 1975 in Bethalto, IL. He survives.
Donna enjoyed fishing, visiting casinos, and shopping. She is an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. Donna is remembered for her love for her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Terry; she is survived by two sons, T.J. (Jayme) Thornton and Cody (Dawn) Thornton, all of Bethalto. Additionally, three sisters, Dolores Roach, Patty Stout, and Dorrie (Ronnie) Ball; her mothers-in-law, Joann Thornton and Barbara Myers; four grandchildren, Hunter, Gage, Caitlyn, and Riley; a nephew, Donnie Lawrence; great-niece, Aubrey Ball; and many other relatives and friends.
Donna is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Glen Wikoff; a sister, Margaret "Peggy" Birkenkamp; a nephew, Kaleb Ball; and a father-in-law, Ivan "Corky" Thornton.
Visitation will be at Wednesday, January 11, 2023, 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
A private family burial of ashes will take place in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens at a later date.

Donna was one of the kindest people I have ever met..She was our neighbor for years, welcomed us with open arms whenever we would visit. When my father died, she was in the late stages of her disease, in pain, and still came to my father´s viewing. She was truly an angel.
