Hannah Smith Obituary

Hannah Linnea Smith
Godfrey - Hannah Linnea Smith, 20, of Godfrey, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2025, at her home.
She was born on August 8, 2005, the daughter of Trenton and Sarah (Bodine) Smith.
Hannah was a 2023 graduate of Alton High School. She was following her passion and working on a writing degree at Maryville University. While working on her degree she worked as a sales associate at Ulta Beauty and was waitressing at Olive Garden. Hannah was an avid reader and could always be found with her nose in a book. She was a loving and adventurous soul who enjoyed adrenaline rushing roller coasters and had dreams of traveling to Europe. She would always light up the room with her beautiful smile, personality, laugh, and impressions. Hannah was a daughter, sister, granddaughter, and best friend to everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her loving parents, Trenton and Sarah of Godrey; brother, Kian Smith; niece, Skylinn Valco, who was raised as her sister; paternal grandfather, Terry Smith of Medora; maternal grandparents, Ron and Linnea Bodine of O'Fallon, MO; aunt, Tanith (Danny) Welsh; uncle, Karl (Michelle) Bodine; numerous cousins, great aunts and uncles, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Hannah was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Chalma Smith and uncle, Kevin Bodine.
Memorial Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Anderson Family Funeral Home in Brighton.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials in Hannah's name may be made to American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (online at afsp.org).

Hannah was a friend and a coworker for several years. She was known as Taylor Swift´s look alike by members at the credit union and a friend to everyone she worked with. She gave me all of the lip plumper advice and she was my work outfit shopping buddy! We would go out to lunch together on breaks and go out to dinner together after shifts. She always talked about the love she had for her dear friend Alissa, her younger brother Kian, her parents, and Skylinn. Hannah will be missed by all and I continue to pray for her, her family, and everyone who knew and loved her.

Attached are some photos of Hannah and I as well as another coworker, Madison. There is also a photo I took of her from my seat at her high school graduation.

She will be very missed!
