John Boehmke Obituary
Cottage Hills - John F. Boehmke 69, passed from this earth on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at OSF St. Anthony's Health Center in Alton.
John was born to the late Robert and Evaline (Micheletto) Boehmke on November 1, 1955 in Litchfield.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Bob; and his fiancée, Janice Hopper Kern. John and Janice graduated in 1973 from Gillespie High School.
John worked at Menard Correctional Center and later retired from Gateway Rail Center. John's passions were restoring old 'vettes', and being a great cook for his family and friends.
His grandchildren and daughter Chelsey were his world. His laughter was so infectious that he was nicknamed "Chuckles", especially his friends at Riverside.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 3 at the Riverside Saloon in Alton.
Marks Mortuary in Wood River in charge of arrangements.

He was unique and always made us laugh. He was dedicated, a great welder and gave 25 years of his life to Gateway and good at everything he did. We will miss him
