JOSEPH 'JOE' MAUPIN
BRIGHTON — Joseph "Joe" L. Maupin, 66, of Brighton, passed away at 8:55 p.m. on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at his daughter's home in Edwardsville, Illinois.
He was born on March 30, 1952, in Alton, Illinois, son of the late Arthur B. and Mary J. (Quirk) Maupin.
Joe married Valerie K. (Frenz) Maupin on June 13, 1975, in Alton, Illinois. She survives and lives in Brighton.
He was a welder for Bierbaum Steel. In his spare time Joe enjoyed camping and fishing.
Besides his wife, survivors include one daughter, Brandi S. (Brian) Brewer of Edwardsville, one son, Joseph "Nick" (Lainey) Maupin of East Alton, five grandchildren: Skyler Maupin, Jayde Maupin, Kenzie Foiles, Riley Brewer and Brandon Brewer, three sisters, Susan (Rudy) Elam of Mt. Olive, Kathy (Brian) Grabner of Wood River, Maria Maupin of St. Louis, two brothers, Dennis (Judy) Maupin of Brighton, Richard (Diane) Maupin of Brighton, one sister-in- law, Marsha (Harry) Kulp of Alton, mother-in-law, Connie Frenz of Alton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Harold Frenz.
A Memorial Gathering will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Targhetta & Wooldridge Funeral Home in Brighton, immediately followed by Memorial Service.
Memorials may be made to the James R. Anderson Memorial Scholarship, in the name of Joe Maupin. SIUE Foundation, Campus Box 1082, Edwardsville, IL. 62026-1082

I am so sorry about Joe. Please know I am praying for you and your family and my heart goes out to you. Larry and I would be there but on Saturday morning we have to leave to go to Clarkton, Mo. for a funeral in our family that day.
