JUNE BAIN
JERSEYVILLE- June Elizabeth Bain, 82, died at 1:20 p.m., Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at her residence after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was born in Roodhouse, Illinois on June 28, 1935, and was one of eleven children born to Keith and Grace (Cardwell) Jackson.
Growing up in a large family, June learned early on the values and hard work and integrity. She worked at Ward's Meat Processing in Jerseyville, and for many years was employed by the Jersey Community Unit #100 School District as an aide on the bus routes.
She married Donald Dean Bain on April 11, 1953 at the Peace United Church of Christ in Jerseyville, and together they shared 58 years of marriage prior to his death on Jan. 12, 2012.
She is survived by her four children and their spouses, Connie & John Goetten of Jerseyville, Lugene and Tarry Bridgewater of Iowa City, Ia., Rick and Diane Bain of Jerseyville, and Lisa and Scott Moore of Jerseyville; seven grandchildren; 16 Great Grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; and three sisters, VIvian Rimbey of Rockbridge, Betty Devening of Jerseyville, and Linda Johnson of Shipman; and several sisters in law and brothers in law, June Russell of Jerseyville, Marie Jackson and Peggy Ash, and Gus Blumenberg all of Rockbridge, Carol Jackson of Greenfield, Jeanette Jackson of Jerseyville, Glen King of Eldred and Tom Dunnagan.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ashley Moore; a sister, Virginia Blumenberg; and six brothers, Dean Jackson, Ronnie Jackson, Leroy Jackson, Bobby Jackson, Glenn "Bo" Jackson and Russell Jackson.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Saturday, March 18 until time of funeral services at noon at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville. Rev. Ted Engelsdorfer will officiate.
Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.
Memorials may be given to the Peace United Church of Christ in Jerseyville, where she was a member or to the Blessing Hospice of Greene County.
