Lily M. Ditman, 85, of Bloomington, formerly of Monticello and Carrollton, passed away at 7:20 a.m., July 19, 2023, at the Carle BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.
Lily was born December 27, 1937, in Cissna Park, IL. the daughter of Christy and Mrytle (Crozier) Genzel. She married Jerry Ditman on June 2, 1957 in Loda, IL.
Lily is survived by her husband, Jerry Ditman of Bloomington; 5 sons, Steve (Sandy) Ditman of Glen Carbon, IL, Greg (Jean) Ditman of Bloomington, IL, Barry (Mary) Ditman of Springfield, IL, Eric (Dana) Ditman of Belleville, IL and Jay (Maria) Ditman of Williamston, MI; 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; brothers, Glenn (Alice) Genzel, Dale (Delores) Genzel, and Lee (Martha) Genzel; and sister Rose Anna (Myron) Frichtl. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Earl Genzel, Merle Genzel, and Christy Genzel, Jr.
Lily was born and raised in the Buckley/Loda area. She worked at Milwaukee Railroad in Chicago and was a homemaker and Daycare provider. She enjoyed rooting for the St. Louis Cardinals and the Fighting Illini. Lily was a loving wife, mom, and grandma. She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Carrollton, IL and Christ Lutheran Church, Monticello, IL.
Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at the Christ Lutheran Church, Monticello, IL. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Julia Rademacher officiating. Interment will be in Carrollton at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Carrollton, or Christ Lutheran Church, Monticello.
