MARY SHANK
MADISON, MISSISSIPPI — Mary Narup Shank, 72, of Madison, passed away on January 2, 2016 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, Mississippi. She was born on July 17, 1943, to the late William Narup and the late Evelyn Elizabeth Davis Narup of Alton, Illinois. She was an operator for Illinois Bell until moving to Mississippi in 1979, where she worked for Bell South until retiring in August 1998.
Mary is survived by her two daughters, Merrede Shank-Lampton of Jackson, Mississippi, and Leslie Swilley (Robert) of Canton, Mississippi; two sons, Aaron Wade Shank (Tammy) of Brandon, Mississippi, and Christopher Shank (Brenda) of Brandon; two sisters, Louise A. Henderson (the late Allen Henderson) of Springfield, Illinois, and Nancy Ellen St. Peters (Dale) of Alton, Illinois; nine grandchildren, Timothy Shank of Denver, Colorado, Cara Leigh Shank of Jackson, Mississippi, Katherine Swilley Speer (Josh) of Canton, Mississippi, Mary Lampton of Ridgeland, Mississippi, Christina Shank of Brandon, Mississippi, Sarah Swilley of Canton, Mississippi, Hunter Shank of Brandon, Dalton Swilley of Canton, and Abbie-Rae Gromley of Zachary, Louisiana; great-grandchild, Mackenzie Speer of Canton; four nieces and five nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be made to the Diabetes Foundation, www.diabetes.org.
A private memorial service will be at a later date.
