Melinda J. Wuellner, 75, of Moro, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2024 at OSF St. Anthony's Hospital with her family by her side.
She was born on August 13, 1948 in Hinsdale, IL, the daughter of John and Mildred (Walraven) Payne. She married Kris D. Wuellner on July 26, 1969 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton. He survives.
Melinda worked as a dental assistant for over 40 years. She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto. Melinda enjoyed reading, playing games, fishing, going on shopping trips with her daughters at the Lake of the Ozarks. She loved Christmas. Her most cherished time was spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Along with her husband, Kris, she is survived by her children, Damian (Dawn) Wuellner of Alton, Heather (Tim) Bechel of Godfrey, Megan (Joe) Clary of Godfrey, and Ashley (Darla Newman) Wuellner of Godfrey; a brother, John (Cathy) Payne of Peotone, IL; fourteen grandchildren, Jacqueline, Clayton, Grace, Michael (Rachel), Jefrey, Chris, Lucas, Cooper, Audrey, Britney, Coleson, Kortney, Zachary, and Gage; as well as five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Celebration of Life visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, from 10 am until time of mass at 11 am, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto. Father Tom Liebler will officiate. Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto is entrusted with arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
