Monica Thomeczek Dare
Godfrey - Monica Thomeczek Dare, 60, died at 1 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2025 at her home in Godfrey. Born April 3, 1965 in Alton, she was the daughter of Harold Joseph and Judy (Nance) Thomeczek. Monica graduated from the University of Georgia and was a professor of Art History at Lewis and Clark Community College. On May 10, 2018 she married Dave Dare in Alton. He survives. Also surviving are two sisters, Mary Anna Newcomb (Kent) and Georgia Adams (Greg); and a brother, Daniel Thomeczek (Jodie). Along with her parents; she was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Michael Thomeczek in infancy and Harold J. Thomeczek Jr. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of memorial service at 12 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Zachary Ziino will officiate. Memorials may be made to Marquette Catholic High School or the American Cancer Society. Online guestbook and information may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com
