Norma Kuehnel Obituary

NORMA KUEHNEL

BETHALTO — In fond remembrance of Norma J. Kuehnel. She went to be with the Lord Monday, Aug. 13, 2018, at Alton Memorial Hospital.

She was born Nov. 9, 1932, in East Alton, to William Earl and Mildred Marie (Williams) Underwood. She married her high school sweetheart Robert D. Kuehnel April 16, 1949, in St. Jacob, Illinois. They enjoyed 50 years of marriage before he passed away Aug. 6, 2003.

A resident of Villa Rose Retirement community in Bethalto, she had been there for over 5 years, enjoying the remaining years of her life, socializing with old friends as well as making new ones. She enjoyed the many musical shows and talents that performed at Villa Rose, and also enjoyed the many different activities that are offered there for residents.

She is survived by her four children, Stephen (Esther) Kuehnel of Tacoma, Washington, Vickie (William) Shrum of Staunton, Yvonne (Steve) DeWall of Bethalto, and Mark (Pam) Kuehnel of Cottage Hills; her adopted granddaughter, Carla J. (Kuehnel) Lewis of Arnold, Missouri.

Visitation will be at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights Friday, Aug. 17, from 12 p.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. Pastor Andrew Paton will officiate.

Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
