Oscartenia McFadden Obituary
Oscartenia "Tina" McFadden
Alton - Mrs. Oscartenia "Tina" McFadden was a devoted wife, loving mother, and grandmother, caring sister, and friend, who passed away on June 23, 2022, at the age of sixty-three, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
Tina was born to Oscar (O.C.) and Edith Rucker on November 22, 1958. After graduating from Bunker Hill High School, she continued her education to receive an associate degree in Medical Transcription from Lewis & Clark College. A lifelong devoted member of the church, Tina was baptized at an early age at Mount Ester Church and faithfully followed the teachings of Christ throughout her life.
She met and married the love of her life, Herman McFadden, and they walked together for over 43 years. To this union they had three children, Kerri (Shimeka), Adrain, and stepdaughter Brandi (Andrews). Ever the devoted husband, Herman fought alongside his wife until she transitioned to eternity.
Tina held a passion for photography, oftentimes showing up to family events with a camera in hand ready to capture life's most important moments. Tina also loved making delicious birthday cookies and cakes and will always be remembered for her homemade German chocolate cake. She also loved planning events and creating beautiful floral arrangements. While Tina held various occupations, she was most passionate about her most recent position as a bus driver for Madison County Transit where she retired from shortly before her passing.
The family was important to Tina; she was never one to miss a family event even if that meant that she came fashionably late. She had a way of making everyone feel loved and if you were fortunate enough to be assigned a nickname by her, you were loved.
Tina was preceded in death by her mother and father and her loving stepmother, Lucielle (Annette) Goode, two brothers, Jerry Rucker, and Tommy Lee Bellamy, and a sister, Bernice Franklin.
Holding on to her memories are Herman McFadden husband of 43 years; children; Kerri (Shimeka), Adrain, and stepdaughter Brandi (Andrews), her remaining siblings, Renee (Karl) Jefferson, Nina (Jerome) Petty, Darral (LaTanya) Rucker, Dwayne (Stephanie) Pierce and Velma (Ray) Caver. She leaves nine grandchildren, two Goddaughters, and a host of friends, nieces, and nephews.
