PAUL ALBRECHT
CARROLLTON — Paul M. Albrecht, 67, of Greenfield, died on Monday, Jan. 14, 2019 at Boyd Memorial Hospital in Carrollton.
Born in Carrollton on Aug. 21, 1951, he was the son of the late Ralph B. and Margaret E. "Betty" (Shirley) Albrecht.
He married the former Sharon Green on June 3, 1972 in Carrollton and she survives.
Also surviving are his children, Travis (wife Jamie) Albrecht of Jerseyville, Jayme (husband Gary) Stuart of Greenfield; five grandchildren, Drake and Wyatt Stuart, Tyler, Thomas and Tanner Albrecht; three brothers, Charles H. (wife Mary Alice) Albrecht of Springfield, Ralph (wife Karen) Albrecht Jr. of Murrayville, Rich (wife Debbie) Albrecht of Greenfield; two sisters, Mary Jane (husband Darrell) Schofield of Carrollton and Shirley (husband Doug) Thornton of Carrollton; and a brother-in-law, Doyle "Doug" Drane of Jacksonville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Sandra Catherine Drane; and infant brothers, Ronald and Donald Albrecht.
Paul was a veteran, and worked at Laclede Steel in Alton. Later he was an excellent handyman who could fix just about everything from small motors to four-wheelers. He was a 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus Alton Chapter. He loved to go fishing with his grandsons and watching them play sports. However, he had to be "sssshhhed" a couple of times while yelling about a bad call.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 18 from 9-11 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church in Carrollton. Funeral Mass will be celebrated immediately following the visitation. Private burial will be conducted at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family. Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com.
