RICHARD ADAM
ALTON — Richard David Adam, 82, went home to be with the Lord at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2018. He was born Nov. 21, 1935 in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of David Richard and Geraldine Elizabeth (Clay) Adam. He graduated from Marietta College where he played football and served in the Army Reserves. Richard was known for his quick wit, generous nature, and a genuine love for people. All his friends were considered family.
On Oct. 11, 1991 he married the former Patricia (Perkins) Rice in Mountain Home, Arkansas. She survives. Also surviving is his sister Lynn (Wally) Volwiler, Joan (Carl) Brackin, his children David (Melany) Adam, Lisa (Mike) Plunkett, Clay (Kristina) Adam, Jenifer Rice and her husband, Tom Corriell, Mike and Patty Rice, his ex wife Marly Adam (Miff Seabaugh), three grandchildren, Brent Adam, Adam Beckman, and Ella Adam, step grandchildren, Alicia Renae Rice, Natalie Coriell, Jacob Coriell, and a step great grandchild, Louna Rae Kitowski and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until time of Memorial Service at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. In lieu of flowers contributions are encouraged to the Shriner Hospital for Children in St. Louis or The American Cancer Society.
