HAMEL — Robert (Bob) Sauerwein died Jan. 20, 2015 at Puxico Nursing Home in Puxico, Missouri. He was born October 9, 1928 in Dorchester, Illinois son of the late Roy and Louise (Stieglitz) Sauerwein.
Bob was a truck driver retiring from J.C. Hauling in 1990. Previously he was the owner of Robert Sauerwein Trucking in Hamel, Illinois.
Survivors include his children: Cheryl (John) Merkel of Edwardsville, Michael (Kathy) Sauerwein of Troy, Sandy (Greg) Kershaw of Houston, Texas, Patti (Jody) Makler of Edwardsville, Tara (Mark) Januhowski of Houston, Texas and Rob (Miranda) Sauerwein of Fletcher, Oklahoma, thirteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters; Vernadine Fleming, Elveta Mae Schaefer, Elvera June Baldridge and one brother David Sauerwein.
He was cremated according to his wishes.
A celebration of his life will be held at Hamel Community Center May 3, 2015 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
