Rosalie Rock
Wood River - Rosalie Rock, 84, went to be with the Lord on June 28, 2024. She passed away peacefully with her husband, son and daughter by her side. She was born January 18, 1940 in Benld, IL to Eugene and Nellie (Simkus) Manarolla.
She married James "Jim" Rock June 9, 1956. She graduated from Wood River High School in 1957. Rosalie worked for 17 years at Bailey's Market. She was a beautiful gift given to the world. God's love flowed from her heart for all to see. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years Jim Rock of Wood River; son, Jimmie (Sharon) Rock of League City, TX; daughter, Cynthia Rock of St. Louis; grandchildren, Jason Gamble, William Gamble, Blaine Claudson, Charles Claudson and James Rock Steinlage a great grandson, Brayden Gamble; a half-sister, Jenny Manarolla and half-brother, Freddie Manarolla.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Charles Austra.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services at noon on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights. Entombment will follow at Sunset Hills Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon. Online guestbook available at www.paynicfh.com.
