Sharon Cook Obituary

Sharon Francis Kirbach Cook, of Zephyrhills, FL, passed away on August 16, 2025. Born on February 27, 1944, Sharon was a source of fun, light, & love throughout her life, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she met.
Sharon graduated from Alton High School in 1962. She furthered her education at Lewis & Clark, which enriched her knowledge and skills for a successful career. Sharon worked at Germania Savings & Loan and later at Olin Corporation in East Alton, then moving to the division at St. Marks, FL.
A devout Christian, Sharon was actively involved in her faith communities, including the Congregational Church of Godfrey, Twelfth Street Presbyterian, Presbyterian Church of Tallahassee, FL, and Methodist Church of Crawfordville, FL. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and interactions.
Sharon's hobbies included sewing, crafting, trying new recipes, baking, gardening, and camping. She cherished the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always eager to create lasting memories with them.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard F. Kirbach and Jane Kirbach, and a stepson, Evan Cook.
She is survived by her husband, Bruce L. Cook; children, Sheri K. Courter Wright and Derek A. Courter; stepson, Jason L. Cook; grandchildren, Bailey Black, Jessica Noel, Logan Tully, Austin & Kiera Courter; great-grandchildren, Harper, Hallie, Everett, Liam, Casey, Luca, Sophia, and Tobias. Sharon's sister, Jody Kirbach, also survives, plus a brother, David Kirbach; one niece, Sarah Hanold Baynard, two nephews, Quint Kirbach, Jacob Hanold & numerous cousins in the US and Canada.
Sharon's great sense of humor, generosity, and thoughtfulness made her a cherished figure in her community and family. Her legacy of kindness and faith will continue to inspire those who knew her.
There will be no services as per her wishes.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to trinitysway.org or a charity of one's choice.
