Sheila Galbreath Obituary

Sheila Renee Galbreath
Sheila Renee Galbreath, 63, passed peacefully on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Sheila married David Galbreath on November 9, 1989 and is survived by her father, George Abernathy; two sisters, Sharon (Tom) Stassi, and Susan (Steve) Booher; and her husband and daughter, David Galbreath and Katelyn Galbreath.
She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Alice and Wayne Greenwood. Sheila will be deeply missed by a wide array of friends and family, along with all who have had the pleasure of knowing her.
As a graduate of Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville, a Real Estate Agent, and a co-founder of The Plant Stand alongside her husband, she was known and loved by many within the community. Sheila and Dave were married and baptized together into the family of Christ and welcomed as members of Faith Baptist Church in Godfrey, IL.
Sheila spent many years bringing joy, laughter, and endless support into the lives of each person she met. She enjoyed tennis, spending time by the water, and any home renovation project she could get her hands on but always considered her greatest achievement to be the raising of her daughter whom she loved with all her heart. Sheila's impact on the world will be felt in the hearts of her friends and family forever.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton, IL where funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 22, 2025. Reverend Tom Olney will officiate. Memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church. Additional information and online guestbook may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com.
