Timothy Cox
Wood River - Timothy D. Cox, 70, passed away peacefully on May 16th, 2024.
Tim was born on Nov. 14, 1953, in Alton to his parents, the late Clifford "Wayne" Cox and Thelma "Lorraine" Cox.
He is survived by his wife and best friend, Janet (Davis) Cox and his beloved brother and sister-in-law Dave (Cyndi) Cox of Encinitas, CA.
Tim was a much-loved brother-in-law, uncle and friend to many.
Besides his parents, Tim is preceded in death by his in-laws, Jim and Elvera Davis, grandparents Floyd and Beulah Cox, Morris and Edith Knutsen and very dear friend and brother-in-law Sam Titsworth.
After serving in the US Air Force, Tim had a career in Cartography and Geographic Information System (GIS) as an Analyst that spanned over 40 years at USGS Rolla, St Louis County and Metropolitan Sewer District. Tim also ran his own business Digital Cartographic Services (DCS) throughout 1990's.
There are too many wonderful things to say about Tim's amazing character, his remarkable intellect, his awesome musical talent and his love for music. Tim loved traveling and had a great affection for animals.
Anyone who was fortunate enough to know Tim, be it his band family from his days of playing music with Troupe or Second Wind, his co-workers or family, will be forever grateful. We will never forget the privilege of knowing this good, good man and what he added to our lives. We love you Tim.
The family wishes to thank two wonderful organizations, the ALS Foundation and Veterans Affairs, who were invaluable to Tim's care over the past year.
Memorials can be made to the ALS Foundation or Veterans Affairs
A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.

Tim was a friend of mine. We played music together in a band in high school. My condolences to his family.

I worked with Tim at MSD starting in 2007. He brought his low-key style to all of our meetings and projects. He was always one of the smartest guys in the room, and solved many technical issues to benefit the District. He was generous with his knowledge, and his sense of humor. I miss him. My prayers to his family.

I worked with Tim on projects that he helped me with at MSD. Always an easy-going guy. I had no idea of the wonderful life that he had led. It was beautiful to read and learn.

Tim and I played 1970 sock hop at Roxana High School. We built 6 Fender Dual Showman speaker cabinets for our band. Played other venues in late 60's/early seventy. Rest Well Tim.
