Wesley Conrad Obituary

WES CONRAD

JERSEYVILLE — Wesley Lewis Conrad, 57, died suddenly at 3:33 p.m., Wednesday, June 10, 2015, of an apparent heart attack.

He was born on Feb. 22, 1958, in Jerseyville, one of five children born to Lewis "Louie" and Norma (Howland) Conrad.

He married the former Beverly Jean Perry on Sept. 1, 1979, at the First United Methodist Church in Jerseyville, and the two shared 35 years of marriage – and only a short time apart before she greeted him in Heaven, after her death on June 3, 2015.

Wes was devoted to his family, and worked tirelessly to provide the best life he could for his wife and daughters. He worked in the construction industry for Kenny Dunham Construction for some time, and for the past several years as a farm hand with Heitzig Farms. Wes loved farming, and always devoted 110 percent to his work.

When his work was done he enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing or enjoying a game of golf as well as the company of good friends and a cold beer. His personality, genuine caring nature and zest for life were contagious, and something those who were honored to know him will never forget.

Surviving are his two daughters, Jennifer and Ashley Conrad both of Jerseyville; four grandchildren, Kayla Conrad, Wyatt Gamblin, Cadence Devening and Chase Devening; his mother, Norma Conrad of Jerseyville; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Allen "Buford" Conrad of Jerseyville and Steven and Cindy Conrad of Eldred; two sisters, Lavonne Conrad and Donna Alderson, both of Jerseyville; along with his wife's sisters, Teresa Perry of Godfrey and Sherry (Dave) McClintock of O'Fallon, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his father, Louie Conrad; his wife, Beverly; a grandson, Logan Devening; his mother and father-in-law, Earl and Madgie Perry; as well as a brother-in-law, Tony Perry Sr.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 15, 2015, from 10 a.m. until time of funeral services at 1 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville with the Rev. Don Long officiating.

Burial will take place alongside his wife at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Jimmy Fosha Scholorship Fund in care of Crawford Funeral Home.
