Aldona Kucy Obituary

Aldona Kucy of Scranton passed away peacefully at home Saturday, June 3, 2017. She was the widow of Benjamin Kucy, who died July 7, 1995.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Grace Neceskas Ramoska. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a seamstress in the local garment industry for many years. Aldona was a very charitable person, always willing to help anyone in need. Her favorite pastime was working jigsaw puzzles. She was a longtime active member of St. Joseph's Church until its closing and now a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish.

Surviving are a son, Lawrence Kucy and wife, Marybeth, Danvers, Mass.; three daughters, Christine DeNunzio and husband, David, Delray Beach, Fla.; Anne Flaherty and husband, Thomas, Scranton; Donna Lader and husband, Robert Sr., Mineral, Va.; grandchildren, Benjamin DeNunzio and wife, Kristyn; Robert Lader Jr., Christopher Kucy, Rachel Kucy, Lisa Flaherty and Thomas M. Flaherty; great-grandchildren, Dustin Lader, Rylan and Keely DeNunzio; four sisters, Sister Philip, S.S.C., Sister Lourdine, S.S.C., Helen Rojenches and Frances Bullet; nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Friday with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Mary, Mother of God Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 316 William St., Scranton. Interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery will follow. No public calling hours are scheduled.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted and are under the care of the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc., 1030 N. Main Ave.
