Andrew Z. Kman, 86, of East Stroudsburg, died on Thursday evening at Lehigh Valley Medical Center, Allentown.
Born in Dickson City, he was the son of the late Stanley and Mary Byer Kman, and he was a former member of St. Mary's Visitation Church, Dickson City, and presently was a member of the Church of St. John, East Stroudsburg. He was a graduate of St. Mary's Parochial School, Dickson City, a 1954 graduate of Dickson City High School and he also served in the United States Army. He worked at Cove Haven, Pocono Palace, and Caesars Resort in the Poconos prior to retirement.
He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend who was always ready to lend a hand where needed. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting with his bird dogs and fishing. Not a golfer himself, he enjoyed watching golf on TV, but mostly he enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter, Indigo. In recent years he prayed the rosary daily and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. His family would like to thank his best friends, Ed Gable and Walter Drake for their friendship. Andy will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Surviving is a son, Andrew Kman and wife Dee Dee Tiller, Brooklyn N.Y.; a daughter, Candace Kman and husband Michael Malinowski, Las Vegas Nev.; a granddaughter, Indigo Kman-Malinowski, Las Vegas Nev.; a sister, Marion Kman, Dickson City; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers, John, Stanley, and Michael Kman; and his former wife, Barbara Shemonsky Kman.
Andrew's funeral will be on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Visitation Church, Dickson City. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Dickson City. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
