Audrey Perechinsky Obituary

Dear Jesus, you have taken from me the lovely woman that you have given me 59 years, eight months ago. You blessed my family and me with one of your greatest creations. Thank you for the fantastic and beautiful loving life together that you have given Audrey and me. Amen.

- Joseph, husband

Audrey M. Perechinsky, 79, of Ulster, Pa., died on Jan. 11, 2018, at the Robert Packer Hospital. She was the wife of Joseph G. Perechinsky. Born in Scranton, Pa., on Oct. 26, 1938, she was the daughter of the late William and Mabel (Reese) Powell.

In her earlier years, Audrey was a registered nurse, educated at the Scranton State Hospital school of nursing. Focused first and foremost on raising her family, Audrey later became the director of nursing at the Bradford County Manor, showcasing her compassion for those in need.

Audrey was the center of her family. A loving and kind wife, mother and grandmother through declining health, she was the focus of her husband's caregiving during the last years of her life. A heart of gold and always with words of encouragement and purpose, she will be remembered and missed by all who knew her.

Audrey is survived by Joseph, her devoted husband; daughter, Laura and husband, Anthony Morelli of Towanda, Pa., grandchildren, Jessica and Catherine Morelli; son, Mark and wife, Lorie Perechinsky, of Glenmoore, Pa., grandchildren, Nicholas, Anna, Sarah and Ella Perechinsky; a daughter-in-law, Ann Perechinsky (wife of Joseph Mark Perechinsky); brother, Gerald and wife, Mari Powell, of Gouldsboro, Pa. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents; eldest son, Joseph Mark Perechinsky on April 23, 2015; and brothers, Dick Powell and William Powell.

Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Audrey's name may be sent to the Children's House Advocacy Center, P.O. Box 335, Towanda, PA 18848 (or online donation www.chcac.org).

Joe, Remembering Audrey and what a sweet young girl she was in the late 1940s when I lived in the Green Ridge section of Scranton. She and Nanette Iffland were my best friends (we were about 10 yrs old). I lost track of her when I moved away but often thought about her and the good times we had as kids. My sincere condolences to you and your family.

I did not know Audrey personally but there is the legacy of some mighty fine kids and grandkids. Had to have been doing something right!
