Barbara Cleary Obituary
Barbara A. Cleary, 88, of Southbury, Conn., died Sunday at Danbury Hospital, Danbury, Conn. She was the widow of Francis Joseph "Frank" Cleary, who died Feb. 2, 2006.
Born in Carbondale, daughter of the late Harold and Mae Weidner Dougher, she was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Southbury. She was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High and St. Joseph's School of Nursing, both of Carbondale.
Surviving are two sons, Michael Cleary and wife, Susan, Bethel, Conn.; and Peter Cleary and wife, Shoshanna, Yorktown Heights, N.Y.; and four grandchildren, Noah, Madison, Sophie and Colin.
She was also preceded in death by a son, John Patrick Cleary, who died in 1965.
The funeral will be Friday with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 N. Church St., Carbondale. Interment will follow at Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill.
Friends may call at the church from 9 a.m. until Mass time. Arrangements by the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home Inc., 55 Lincoln Ave., Carbondale.
