Barbara Ann Gabello, 81, of Old Forge, died Wednesday at the Mountain View Care Center, Scranton. She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Nocera, and her second husband, Joseph Ravinskas.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Carmen and Mary Zahorsky Gabello, she was a 1959 graduate of Old Forge High School. Barbara was employed by Chamberlain Mfg., Scranton, for numerous years. She worked as a waitress at Ghigiarelli's Pizza, Old Forge, for many years as well. Of Roman Catholic faith, she was a parishioner of Prince of Peace Parish, Old Forge.
Barbara enjoyed frequenting the casinos, especially Atlantic City, throughout her life. Her pet cats were a great means of comfort and joy to her. Her family graciously acknowledges both the Mountain View Care Center and its staff for the exceptional attention given to Barbara during her stay. They also wish to extend a very appreciative note of gratitude to Dr. Armando Sallavanti and his staff for the high level of care and concern shown unto her. It will never be forgotten.
Surviving are a son, Robert Gabello Sr. (Valerie), of Old Forge; three grandchildren, Robert Gabello Jr., Jillian Marcinko-Hadden (Jay) and Alexa Marcinko; and four great-grandchildren, Jason, Violet, and Otto Hadden and Julian Marcinko.
The funeral will be held Tuesday with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Prince of Peace Parish, 123 W. Grace St., Old Forge, to be celebrated by Rev. August A. Ricciardi, pastor. Interment will be privately held in St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation for Barbara on Tuesday in the church from 9 to 10 a.m. Memorials may be directed to the SPCA of Luzerne County, 524 E. Main St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702. The Gabello family has entrusted arrangements to the care of Ferri & Gillette Funeral Services LLC, 522 Fallon St., Old Forge.
