Catherine Ondek Obituary

Catherine Rose Ondek was 94 years old when she went home to be with our Lord on Nov. 28, 2023.

The only child of Thomas and Catherine Brenner Jerome, her death was preceded by her loving husband, Andrew P. Ondek, in 2005; and daughter, Annette, in 1957. Catherine and Andrew are survived by their daughter, Andrea and husband, Greg; and sons, Dennis and wife, Susan; Andrew and wife, Mary Ann; and Joseph. She is also remembered by her eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Catherine and Andrew lived in Blakely, Pa. for 50 years where she raised a loving family. An avid bowler she also had a creative nature and enjoyed crocheting, arts and crafts, gardening and many other self-taught activities. She had an outgoing personality and quickly made friends with everyone she met.

Interim services will be held in Myrtle Beach, S.C., where she resided with family during her final years. A Mass at their family church in Olyphant, Holy Ghost, followed by her burial will be scheduled at a future date to be announced.

Catherine always asked family and friends to send flowers while she was alive to be able to enjoy them so, in lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a cause she was passionate in supporting.
