Connie Gable Obituary

Connie Drasba Gable of Taylor died Monday afternoon at Riverside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where she had been a resident for the past two weeks. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Leonard.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Pearl Petrosky Drasba and was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School. Throughout her life, Connie worked in the garment industry, retiring from Vermont Clothing, Taylor. She was a parishioner of Divine Mercy Parish and a former parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church, Taylor, and a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union.

Connie enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles but her family was the center of her life. Her flawless home cooking and stories about her younger days were cherished during family visits. She will be dearly missed.

A son, Donald; and two sisters, Sylvia Kishbaugh and Arlene Pitts, also preceded her in death.

The funeral will be Thursday at 9:30 a.m. from the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St., Taylor, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in Divine Mercy Parish, 312 Davis St., Scranton, by the Rev. Francis Pauselli. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Old Forge.

Dear Uncle Leonard, Lenny, Johnney and all Aunt Connies family, and friends,I will always remember the welcoming kindness Aunt Connie gave me. I miss my Pennsylvana family and often think of those childhood days sharing time together. I can still see Donnie walking into Grandmas kitchen and saying Hi Cousin Andy. I will always think of Aunt Connie in those near and dear memories of a family childhood. I know that Jesus has brought her to peace and happiness, and I know how hard this is for all the Loved ones she leaves behind. Love Andrew Matzan
