Daniel Kulick Obituary

Daniel Kulick, 66, of Scranton, formerly of Dupont and Avoca, died Monday at Hospice Community Care, Dunmore.

Born in Avoca on March 2, 1944, son of the late Francis and Jennie Pesta Kulick, he was a 1961 graduate of St. John's High School, Pittston, and graduated from King's College. Dan served with the Navy and retired from Catholic Social Services. Daniel was also a DUI instructor for Luzerne County for many years. He was a member and served as post commander for VFW Post 4909, Dupont.

Dan was well-known for his service as a DUI instructor in Luzerne County. His approach to teaching combined with his genuine concern and compassion for his students made him a teacher who truly made a difference in countless lives.

Dan loved the beauty and solace of the ocean, but in his life, nothing was greater than the love he held for his family.

Deeply admired, respected and loved by his children, granddaughter, brothers, sister, extended family and friends, Dan will be missed beyond measure.

Surviving are two daughters, Danielle Kulick, Perth Amboy, N.J.; and Monique Kulick, Huntington Beach, Calif.; a stepson, Antony Graham, Dunmore; a stepdaughter, Candice Lawson, Huntington Beach; a brother, Monsignor Alexander T. Kulik, Dunmore; his twin brother, the Rev. Francis Kulik, Florida; his sister, Shirley Polaski, Clinton, N.J.; his granddaughter, Devyn; several nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Lackawanna Avenue, Dupont, to be celebrated by his twin brother, the Rev. Francis Kulik.

Friends may call at the church from 9 until the time of Mass. VFW Post 4909 of Dupont will conduct military honors. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Kitchen, Catholic Social Services, 33 E. Northampton St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701. Arrangements are being handled by Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc. 255 McAlpine St. Duryea.

Msgr. Al; Fr. Fran, and family,

I have known Dan for many years and there is nothing bad I can say about him. He really was a great guy and a compassionate person. It was really sad to know that instead of enjoying his retirement years, he suffered so much. He was always on my mind these past months and he is someone I will never forget. And Fr. Fran, just maybe "he'll see raindrops on the windows"!! My sympathy to you all.

Msgr.Al, Fr. Frank, Shirley and Family -- I'm sending heartfelt thoughts and prayers from the entire Keating family. We all grew up knowing and loving the Kulick family. We have such fond memories of Danny. He was such a wonderful guy -- you couldn't help but feel good when you were in his company. Wish we could all be there in person with you today but know that we are with you in spirit. Danny is at peace now and he will always be in our hearts.
