Douglas Brace Obituary

Douglas A. Brace Jr. of Scranton died Tuesday at home.

Born in Scranton and raised in Moscow, son of Douglas A. Brace Sr., Cape Girardeau, Mo., and Patricia Loughney Brace, Scranton, he was a graduate of North Pocono High School. He was employed at the Home Depot Distribution Center, Pittston.

Douglas was fond of music, including all varieties of rap, hip-hop and country, and was a sports enthusiast, specifically of baseball, basketball and football. His favorite NFL team was the Philadelphia Eagles, and he loved all associated Philadelphia organizations. Douglas had a great heart and sense of compassion for human life. He will be missed deeply by his family and friends and will always live in their hearts and prayers.

Also surviving are a son, Noah Michael; two brothers, James Grubham and wife, Darlene, and their children, J.D. and Josh, all of Moscow; and David Brace and wife, Melissa, and their children, Aidan and Nieko, all of Old Forge; a sister, Cheri Carpenter and husband, Ron, Moscow; an uncle, Paul, and aunt, Grace Furiosi, and family, Twain Harte, Calif.; a stepmother, Teddi Brace, wife of Douglas A. Brace Sr.; and many cousins in Pennsylvania and California.

The funeral will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the Victor M. Ferri Funeral Home, 522 Fallon St., Old Forge, with services by the Rt. Rev. Nestor Kowal, pastor of St. Michael's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Scranton. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Mount Carmel Cemetery, O'Neill Highway, Dunmore.
