Eileen M. Anneman, North Scranton, passed away Thursday afternoon at her home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of Michael Anneman. The couple had been married 40 years.
Born in 1959 in Scranton, she was one of the 11 children of the late John Leonard and Eileen Jessie Squier Naughton. She was a graduate of the former Scranton Technical High School and the Lackawanna Junior College where she focused her studies in the field of accounting. She worked for the Social Security Administration.
As a mother of four children, she made sure to give each one personal attention. Eileen cherished family vacations in Sandbridge, Virginia. She also loved going on day trips with her husband, exploring antique shops and trying out local restaurants. She was always eager for a card game and a delightful cup of coffee. Eileen's greatest happiness came from spending quality time with her grandchildren.
Also surviving are her beloved children, Melissa Guagno and her husband, Joseph; Michael Anneman and his wife, Melissa; Molly Anneman and her fiancé, Timothy Faux; and Matthew Anneman; her grandchildren, Liam Mulea, Lexie Anneman, Jude Anneman and Hendrix Anneman; siblings, Nancy Dolan, Diane Brozzetti Santorsa; Sharon Calzola and husband, Robert; Edward Naughton, John Naughton; Kathleen Faux and her husband, Darrell; Maureen Marcinko and her husband, John; Thomas Naughton and his wife, Melissa; and Brian Naughton; brother-in-law, Ronald Handville; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Frank Naughton; nephews, James Brozzetti and Edward Naughton Jr.; future daughter-in-law, Samantha Mahoney.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, 801 Taylor Ave., Scranton, by the Rev. Jeffrey D. Tudgay, pastor.
Friends may call Thursday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass at the church.
Interment, private at the convenience of the family.
