Eleanor Kraynick, 97, of Clarks Summit, formerly of Scranton, died on Oct. 17 at Willowbrook Place in Clarks Summit.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late George and Ella Hvasta Kraynick. Eleanor was a graduate of Scranton Central High School and worked her entire career at the International Ladies' Garment Workers union, Scranton office, where she started as a secretary and eventually became the office manager prior to her retirement.
Throughout her life, Eleanor enjoyed sports and was an excellent swimmer, sailor, skier and golfer. She excelled in every sport and was a swimming and ski instructor. She was a longtime member at the Elkview Country Club, where she was still golfing into her 90s.
She is survived by her nephew, Paul Lach, Oakland, N.J.; and her niece, Larraine Ewing, Roseville, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Irene Lach.
The funeral service will be on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Peter's Cathedral in Scranton. Interment will be private. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Louis M. Margotta Funeral Home. For online condolences or directions, visit www.margottafuneralhomes.com.
