Elizabeth K. "Betty" Petrasko

Elizabeth K. "Betty" Petrasko, 92, of Dunmore, died Monday afternoon at Allied Skilled Nursing, Scranton. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Cyril E. Petrasko, on Feb. 12, 2009.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Strazik Horvat, she was a graduate of Dunmore High School class of 1948 and, prior to retirement, had been employed in the local garment industry at Stephanie Fashions in Archbald, as well as T&T Fashions and Picardy Mills, both in Dunmore. She had been a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Dunmore and the Confraternity of Christian Women at All Saints Church, Dunmore, where she served as officer, treasurer and later vice president. She also loved her trips to Atlantic City.

Surviving are her aunt, Margaret Demanovich, and several cousins.

Her son, the Rev. John C. Petrasko, preceded her in death in 1990; as well as her daughter, Mary Beth Petrasko, in 1981.

The funeral will be Tuesday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, Chestnut Street, Dunmore. Interment, All Saints Cemetery, Hollisterville.

Family and friends may pay their respects at the funeral home on Monday from 3 to 6 p.m.
