Ethel Leger Obituary

Ethel Aline Leger, 53, of Scranton, passed into eternal life Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018, at home.

Ethel was born in Paterson, N.J., on Aug. 27, 1965, to Joseph and Iris Leger.

Ethel was an extraordinary woman and a fierce, loyal friend. She was an outgoing people person who would always lend a listening ear. Ethel was always encouraging those she knew, as if she was the neighborhood social worker. She adored her two grandsons, Noah and Niko Leger. Ethel also loved to curl up on the sofa and immerse herself in a good book and was known for her mouthwatering, finger-lickin', fall-off-the-bone, barbecue ribs.

Surviving are her parents, Joseph and Iris Leger, of Scranton; her loving son and daughter-in-law, Lamar and Natasha Leger, of Scranton; two sisters, Kimberly and Iris Leger, both of Scranton; two brothers, Karoy Leger and wife, Carmen, of Willingboro, N.J., and Brandon Leger, of Scranton; two grandsons named above; and several nieces and nephews.

Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Dale McCarter, and her sister, Jacqueline Leger.

The viewing, our celebration of her life, will be held Friday, Sept. 14, 2018, from 5 to 7 p.m. at McGoff-Hughes Funeral Home, 1401 Capouse Ave., Scranton.
