Frances Margaret Blumer

Frances Margaret Blumer, 100, of Spring Brook Twp., died Wednesday at Celtic Hospice, Wilkes-Barre. She was the wife of the late Hans Blumer.

Born in Spring Brook Twp., daughter of the late Albert and Bertha Tooley Jones, Frances graduated from Scranton Technical High School and worked on her family's chicken farm. She was a member of Maple Lake United Methodist Church, Spring Brook Twp, where she served as the record keeper for memorial donations and was in the church's quilting and card clubs.

Surviving are her grandchildren, Megan Gilman and her husband, Scott, Spring Brook Twp.; Kara Blumer, Philadelphia; Robby Blumer and his wife, Dana, Spring Brook Twp.; and Brock Blumer and his wife, Jennifer, Jefferson Twp.; and seven great-grandchildren, Madison, Ava and Sydney Blumer, Emma and Jack Gilman, and Reagan and Reid Blumer.

She was also preceded in death by her sons, Robert Hans Blumer and Kenneth Stephen Blumer; and siblings, Julius Jacoby, Robert Jones, Edith Atwell and Bud Jones.

The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. from the Maple Lake United Methodist Church, 632 State Route 690, Spring Brook Twp., to be conducted by the Rev. Eric Luczak. Interment, Maple Lake Cemetery.

Viewing will be 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Maple Lake United Methodist Church, 632 State Route 690, Spring Brook Twp., PA 18444; or Celtic Hospice and Home Health, 601 Wyoming Ave., Kingston, PA 18704.
