George Wuagon Obituary

George Wuagon of Archbald died Wednesday at Mercy Hospice. He was the widower of Mary "Cookie" Perechinsky Wuagon, who died Jan. 24, 2008.

Born in Jessup, he was a son of the late George and Veronica Smilnak Wuagon. He was a graduate of Jessup High School, class of 1956, and a very gifted and talented stonemason before retirement. George was a member of Holy Ghost Church, Jessup, and the Bricklayers Union, Scranton.

Surviving are sons, George, Gouldsboro, and Bruce and wife, Lynn, Archbald; grandchildren, Michael Wuagon and Danielle Ritter and husband, J.R.; a great-granddaughter, Ella Ritter; and a brother, Joseph Wuagon and wife, Ruth, Throop.

Also preceding him in death were a sister, Veronica Noldy, and a brother, Michael Wuagon.

Private funeral services were held Saturday in the Louis J. Rapoch Funeral Home, 420 Church St., Archbald, by the Rev. Christopher Sahd. Interment was in Holy Ghost Cemetery, Jessup.

Pallbearers were George and Bruce Wuagon, sons; Michael Wuagon, grandson; Joseph Wuagon, brother; Joseph Piersimoni and Joseph Foley.
