Gloria "Cookie" Rosetti Miraglia, 88, of Jessup, died Tuesday morning at Mid Valley Health Care Center, Peckville.
Her former husband was Carl Joseph Miraglia. Gloria was born in Peckville and was the daughter of the late Ubaldo Anthony and Laura Generotti Rosetti.
A graduate of Jessup High School, class of 1954, she was employed as the office manager at Joanne Frocks in Mayfield and later worked as a payroll accountant at Lackawanna College.
Gloria, affectionately known as "Noni," was an exceptional cook, delighting her loved ones with delicious meals, especially her famous cannoli. She brought everyone together, especially on Sundays where she opened up her home lovingly to all. Gloria was renowned for her prolific dancing and her ability to bring people together. She was a dedicated member of the St. Mary's Assumption Church in Jessup and Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Peckville. Gloria was an active participant in community events, such as St. Ubaldo Society and Jessup High School Reunion Committee, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She truly owned "the Scene," and also, embodied the love and spirit of her cherished home in Jessup. The family would like to especially thank the Mid Valley Health Care Center's doctors, nurses, and staff for their kind and compassionate care.
Surviving are her children, Stanley Anthony Miraglia, of Peckville; Carla Maria Tomasetti and life partner, John "Pony" Havirlak, of Olyphant; Joseph Carl Miraglia and wife, Susan, of Eynon; her grandchildren, Tara Miraglia Karmol; Lindsey Tomasetti Fuhr and husband, Jason; Joseph Miraglia Jr., Thomas Miraglia, Sara Miraglia and Leah Miraglia; her great-grandchildren, Kylee and Karter Karmol, and Jayse Fuhr; her brother, Fred "Butch" Rosetti, Ed.D., and wife, Kathleen, of Archbald; her sisters-in-law, Columba "Betty" Rosetti, of Jessup; and Gertrude Bolick, of Dunmore; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Ubaldo Rosetti Jr.
The funeral will be held Saturday with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Peckville. Those attending the Mass are asked to go directly to the church. Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Jessup.
