Harry Paul Hastings Jr., 60, of Newfoundland and formerly of Scranton, died suddenly Wednesday at his home.
Born in San Francisco, Calif., he was the son of Kathryn Mailen of Newfoundland and the late Harry Paul Hastings Sr. Harry was a graduate of West Scranton High School class of 1982. He served honorably in the United States Navy from 1982 to 1988. He was employed at Tobyhanna Army Depot since 2004. Harry was a board member of Trinity Congregational Church in Scranton.
He is survived by a brother, Kevin Hastings and his former wife, Kim, Everett, Wash., and their children, Tammi Ann, Kyle; Kristopher and his wife, Tiana; and Samantha Hastings; also, a sister, Wendi Weiss and her husband, Tom, from New Jersey, and their five children and eight grandchildren. Harry is also survived by several extended family members, including Brieanna, Connor, and their children, Griffin, Olivia, Aiden and Abby.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday at noon in Trinity Congregational Church, 229 S. Main Ave. in Scranton. Interment with military honors will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery in Dalton. Friends and family may pay respects at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
