Helen Simon, 76, of Archbald, died Monday, June 7, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Joseph P. Simon, who died Aug. 10, 2019.
Helen was born in Archbald, Pa., on April 18, 1945, a daughter of the late Frank and Helen (Bugaslasky) Loff. She was a member of Christ the King Parish, Archbald, a graduate of Archbald High School and formerly was employed at RCA, Dunmore, and Fay's Drug Store and Eckerd Drug Store, Eynon. She was a member of the Black Diamond Hose Company #2 Ladies Auxiliary. Helen enjoyed traveling with her family to Cape Vincent, spending time with the grandchildren and watching and feeding the hummingbirds.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Allied Services Hospice and her caregivers Diane, Rebecca, Mary Esther, Brittany, Linda and many others for the loving and compassionate care they gave to Helen.
Helen is survived by three daughters, Kim Simon, Archbald; Sherri Reeves and husband, Jack, Jermyn; Kelley Colleran and husband, Dr. Kevin Colleran, Waverly; a son, Joseph Patrick Simon and wife, Monica, Archbald; two sisters, Rose Franchak and husband, Steve, Jermyn; and Viola Krzywiec, Archbald; two brothers, Paul Loff, Mifflinville; and Stanley Loff and wife, Lorraine, Jermyn. She is also survived by grandchildren; Cody, Morgan and Dylan Reeves, Shane, Brendan, Aidan and Ella Colleran, Karly and Joseph Patrick Simon III; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Alice Petorak and Mildred Zurek; and four brothers, Walter, Joe, Vince and Greg Loff.
The funeral will be Friday at 9:30 a.m. from the Harrison Funeral Home, 374 N. Main St., Archbald, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Archbald. Interment in St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery, Archbald.
Viewing will be Thursday, 5 to 8 p.m.
