Helen Spinley Obituary
Helen was born in Jermyn on Jan. 1, 1914, a daughter of the late Mary (Kobos) and Paul Hallowich. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus and Mary Parish, Jermyn, and was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a retired seamstress, working in several local dress factories, and she was a member of the ILGWU.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of the 8th floor of Regional Hospital for the loving and compassionate care they gave to Helen.
Surviving are a daughter, Arlene Dearie, Jermyn; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Helen Falbo; three sisters, Julia Bukoski and Josephine and Anna Hallowich; four brothers, Frank, Joseph, John and Paul Hallowich.
The funeral will be Friday at 9:30 a.m. from the Ryczak-Harrison Funeral Home Inc., 901 Lackawanna Ave., Mayfield, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in Sacred Heart of Jesus and Mary Church, Jermyn, with the Rev. Shane Kirby, officiating. Interment in Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery Jermyn.
Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m.

Love going to Jermyn for her birthday with the family and singing polish carols. She loved her family and the Long John Silvers meal her Nanticoke family would take when they came to visit. Sharpest mind ever. Love and will miss her stories.

What a wonderful woman. I so remember my Aunt doing her & my Babachi's hair every weekend - wsys smiling & sweet. So many memories with my family. She was so sweet & special. My deepest sympathy to your family.

O how I will always remember the good times in Jermyn visiting my Great Aunt Helen. God blessed her with many memories and for that we will always be grateful. Hugs to you Arlene and all the extended family. Love, Diane and my mom Dorothy
