On Monday, Oct. 25, 2021, Janet Ruth Orlando, loving mother of five children, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, passed away at the age of 76.
Janet was born in Peckville to William Simpson and Ruth Jones in February 1945. She has two surviving older brothers, Ronnie and Dave Simpson. Janet graduated from Blakely High School, dedicated her professional career to Dunmore Oil Company and Keystone Community Resources and her personal faith in God to the Blakley Baptist Church for more than 40 years. In that time, she raised a daughter, Brenda, and sons, Richie, Jamie, Tony and Brian before moving from Jermyn to Orange City, Fla., in 2005.
Following her divine faith, Janet became involved with the Orange City United Methodist Church (OCUMC) and was a member of the Cracked Pots Sunday School Class. She regularly volunteered for church events, to include Third Saturday Community Connection, Manna and Mail Call Ministry as well as Martha's Cupboard. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Feeding America were two charities that meant a great deal to her. She was an avid reader with favorites being James Patterson, Michael Connelly, Mary Higgins Clark and Catherine Coulter to name a few.
Janet was known for her positive voice, sweet smile, joyful spirit and beautiful blue eyes. She is now pain-free with Jesus, singing and dancing with her family and friends.
Please join us in celebrating her life on Saturday, Nov. 6, at 3 p.m. at the Orange City United Methodist Church, located at 396 E. University Ave., Orange City, FL 32763.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to the Orange City United Methodist Church (https://ocumc.org/give/), where they will tithe to St. Jude Children's Research in Janet's name.

Dearest Aunt Janet,
Not one memory has you without a smile.
I am joyful knowing you have your forever smile and are having coffee with grandma and grandpa and our Savior, Jesus.
We will join you soon!
Love,
Curt
