Jason Spoonhower Obituary

Jason C. Spoonhower, 37, a resident of Spring Brook Township, died Wednesday at home after a lengthy illness.

Born in Myrtle Beach, S.C., he is survived by his father, Gerald Spoonhower and companion, Tracey Whitford of Spring Brook Township, as well as his mother, Leslie Bolin of Palmerton. A graduate of North Pocono High School, he was employed by Buck Eye Petroleum as a pipeline operator. He was a former member of Moscow Volunteer Fire Department and served in the U.S. Air Force.

He was a loving father, son and brother who loved children immensely. He is survived by several aunts and uncles and was very close with his aunt Helen and uncle Gary. He resided with his grandmother, Ramona Spoonhower, with whom he shared a very special bond. Jason loved the time he spent at the garage with his good friends and selflessly helping whenever a need arose.

Surviving are children, Myah, Tyler and Cody Spoonhower, Spring Brook Township; a sister, Megan Buckley, Scranton; a brother, Neil Spoonhower, Richmond, Va.; maternal grandmother, Marjorie Bolin, Allentown; paternal grandmother, Ramona Spoonhower, Spring Brook Township; two nieces, a nephew, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be held Monday, 4 to 6 p.m., with a memorial service directly following at 6 p.m., at the Spring Brook Congregational Church, 209 Beech Road, Spring Brook Township, with the Rev. Bill Dearin officiating.

I am so sorry for you loss. No parent should ever bury their child. He looks just like you.

I give a lot of credit to Tyler, Cody, and Myah for doing everything that they have been for their father's funeral. They have a very loving family and a lot of friends who are\will help them through these hard times. We love & miss you Jason ! You will never be forgotten!
