John Kyle Obituary

John Frederick Kyle, 87, of Hanover, Pa., entered God's eternal care, Monday, Dec. 6, 2021, at SpiriTrust Lutheran the Village at Utz Terrace.

Born Nov. 9, 1934, in Lock Haven, Pa., he was the son of the late Frederick M. and Anna (Fealing) Kyle. John was the loving husband of Patricia M. (McGill) Kyle with whom he shared 40 years of marriage and the late Edna (Naylor) Kyle.

John was a graduate of Lock Haven High School and attended Franklin and Marshall College. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy from 1952 to 1956.

John worked for Nationwide for 18 years and then co-owned his own agency Davis, Gregory, & Kyle Insurance Company in Factoryville, Pa., until his retirement in 1989.

John was a former board director for the Tyler Memorial Hospital from 1978 to 1981 and chairman of the board from 1981 to 1984. He was recognized for his exceptional leadership, service and dedication to the Tyler Hospital and the community it serves.

John was a member of the Hanover Eagles, the Hanover Moose, the American Legion, the Hanover VFW, the Hanover Elks, the Hanover Republican Club, the Hanover Home Association, the Hanover YMCA and the Patmos Masonic Lodge #348.

John was an avid hunter, fisherman and want-to-be golfer. Most of all, John was a family first, loving husband, father and grandfather.

In addition to his loving wife, Patricia, John is survived by his children, W. Jeffrey Kyle of Clarks Summit, Pa., Douglas J. Kyle of Pittsburgh, Pa., David M. Kyle of Dallas, Pa., eight grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, one brother, Richard Kyle of State College, Pa., and one sister, Harriett Steinbacher of Lock Haven, Pa. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael K. Kyle, one brother, William Kyle, and one sister, Mary Ann Furst.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

The family would like to thank SpiriTrust Lutheran the Village at Utz Terrace for the loving care and support shown to John and the family over the last six years.
