Joseph Anuszewski, 76, of Dickson City, died Monday morning, Aug. 26, at home. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Madeline Anuszewski, née Condida.
Born in Dickson City, Joe was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Remick Anuszewski. He was a member of St. Mary's Visitation Church, Dickson City, and a graduate of Dickson City High School. Prior to retirement he had been employed by Roadway Express as a truck driver for 34 years. Joseph also served in the United States Army and was a life member of the American Legion Post 665 in Dickson City.
Surviving are four children, Beverly Moletsky and husband, Paul; Kenneth Anuszewski and wife, Jackie; Diana Zantowsky and husband, Fred; and Mary Beth Mercado and husband, Juan; four grandchildren, Joseph and Shane Anuszewski, Makayla Zantowsky, and Frederick Zantowsky III; great-grandchildren, Frederick Zantowsky IV, Zachary Zantowsky, Xavier Nelson and Lilith Anuszewski; his sister, Carol Jones and husband, Mal; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his three brothers, Eugene, Robert and Gerald Anuszewski.
Friends may call Saturday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City, with Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Visitation Church, Dickson City. Interment with military honors will take place at St. Mary's Visitation Cemetery, Dickson City.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 100 William St., Dunmore, PA 18510 or a charity of your choice.
