Joseph P. Healey

Joseph P. Healey, Carbondale, died Sunday. His widow is the former AnnMarie Culkin.

Born in Carbondale, son of Jane McFadden Healey, Carbondale, and the late Harold Healey, he was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. He was a graduate of the Scranton Preparatory School, class of 1964 and the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science. He was the owner and operator of Healey's Drug Store, Carbondale, for several years, before working for several chain drug stores, the last being the Medicine Shoppe, Carbondale. He was also a pharmacist for many years at Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton.

Also surviving are a daughter, Heather Healey, Lompoc, Calif.; three sons, Joseph Christopher Healey, Olyphant; John Moran Healey, Yelm, Wash.; and Shawn P. Healey and wife, Laura, Tacoma, Wash.; two grandchildren, Hannah Ivy Watson and Keagan Patrick Healey; a brother, John Healey and his wife, Patricia, Scranton; a sister-in-law, Gladys Kosty, Post Falls, Idaho; a brother-in-law, Bohdan Fedorchak, Carbondale; several nieces. He will be greatly missed by his dog, Yoda.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Ann Fedorchak.

The funeral will be Saturday from the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home Inc., 55 Lincoln Ave., Carbondale, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale, to be celebrated by Rev. John Kilpatick. Interment will be private.
