Joseph Naro Obituary

Joseph S. Naro, 82, of Throop, died Friday at Hospice Community Care in Dunmore after an illness. His wife is the former Lillian Talluto.

Born in Dunmore, son of the late Angelo and Sebastiana Falluzza Naro, he was educated in Dunmore public schools and was a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish at St. Anthony's Church, Throop. He was employed by Chamberlain Manufacturing before retirement and was a member of San Cataldo Club, Dunmore.

Joe was a kind, gentle soul whose hospitality was known to all who knew him. He especially enjoyed time with his family, Florida vacations, Atlantic City and playing cards with his friends before his illness. He was well liked and will be sadly missed.

The family wants to thank Dr. Dzielak, the staff at Moses Taylor Hospital and Moses Taylor Home Health, Age on Aging, Compassionate Care, Linwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, AseraCare Hospice, Hospice Community Care and the numerous doctors and staff along the way. He had excellent care; God bless them all.

He is also survived by two daughters, Jo Ann Hamilton and husband, Joe, Dickson City; and Lisa Buchinski and husband, Larry, Throop; a son, Joseph Jr., Throop; four grandchildren, Shelly Chmil, and husband, Terry; Jeffrey Hamilton and Ryan and Michael Buchinski; two great-grandchildren, Isabella and Ally; a brother, James, Dunmore; nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by five brothers, Sam, Michael, Louis, Ross and Anthony Naro; and four sisters, Catherine Tuzze, Josephine Scarantino, Mary Yakubisin and Nancy Gatto.

The funeral will be Tuesday, 9 a.m., from the John F. Glinsky Funeral Home, 445 Sanderson St., Throop, with Mass at 9:30 in Blessed Sacrament Parish, Throop. Interment, St. Michael's Cemetery, Dunmore.
