Kevin Carten, 68, of Madison Twp., passed away Friday, July 15, 2022, at home. He was the widower of Elizabeth Bamford, who passed away Feb. 13, 2021.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of the late Stradford and Ellen "Helen" (Sherman) Carten. Before he retired, Kevin worked for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority in New York City as a bus operator. Being outside was what Kevin enjoyed most, taking in all that nature had to offer. He liked to feed the chipmunks and the squirrels and watch them as they enjoyed their bounty. Kevin was an avid music fan and his family and friends will never forget the times he played his guitar for them.
Kevin is survived by his son, Christopher Ryan Carten; his daughter, Melissa Ann Rice and her husband, Thomas; his grandchildren, Lacey and Lauren; his sisters, Patricia and Eileen; his stepchildren, Tonya Ianni and her partner, Heather Gaus; and Guiseppe Paul Ianni Jr. and his wife, Lori; his stepgrandchildren, Ella Gaus, Austin Heinemann, Guiseppe Paul III and Alyssa Ianni; and his stepgreat-granddaughter, Paisley Elizabeth Ianni. Kevin was also preceded in death by his brother, Michael.
