Kyle Sylvester Obituary

Kyle J. Sylvester, 32, of Jessup, died Friday at home. He was the son of Neil Sylvester, Jessup, and Renee Bolcavage Martyniuk, Auburn.

Born in Scranton, he was a member of Queen of Angels Parish, Jessup. He was a graduate of Valley View High School class of 2004. Kyle served his country in the Army. While serving, he spent time in Haiti performing search and rescue missions after the earthquake in 2010. He worked at Sylvester Chevrolet as a sales, parts and service assistant. Kyle enjoyed all sports but had a passion for football; he played youth football for the Archbald Rams and played through high school for the Valley View Cougars. For the past several years, he was a coach for the Valley View Jr. Cougars. Kyle also enjoyed golfing, fishing at the farm, and spending time with his dog, Cruze.

Also surviving are maternal grandparents, Victor and Hannelore Bolcavage, Archbald; paternal grandmother, Mildred Sylvester, Greenfield Twp.; brother, Ryan Sylvester and wife, Melissa, Eynon; stepmother, Mary Ann Sylvester, Jessup; stepfather, John Martyniuk, Auburn; stepbrother, Sean Rist, Hawaii; an aunt, Diane Conserette and husband, Joseph, Archbald; four uncles, Derek Sylvester, Greenfield Twp., and his companion, Regis Kordish; Peter Hennrich and wife, Hannelore, Germany; Michael Bolcavage and wife, Kathy, Florida; and Mark Bolcavage, Archbald; niece, Natalie Sylvester; and nephews, Rocco and Aidyn Sylvester; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Frank Sylvester.

The funeral will be Wednesday with Mass at 9:30 a.m. at Queen of Angels Parish in St. Michael's Church, Jessup. Interment will follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery, Jessup.

Friends may call Tuesday, 4 to 8 p.m., at the Robert E. Decker Funeral Home, 702 River St., Peckville. Friends and family are asked to go directly to the church the morning of the funeral.
