Lana Mae Sherman, 82, a lifelong resident of the West Mountain section of Scranton, passed away in the Regional Hospital of Scranton after being stricken ill. Her loving family was by her side.
Born in 1941 in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late George "Dutch" and Emma M. Hall Sherman. She was a graduate of West Scranton High School and went on to have a long and wonderful career at AkzoNobel Salt Company as an executive.
Lana enjoyed bingo, going to the casino, line dancing and bus trips with her friends. She will be missed by those who were blessed to have known her.
Also surviving are her sister, Judy Saita and her husband, Joseph; her brother, Carl Sherman; nieces and nephews, Terri Wert and her husband, Dave; Cindy Bartels and her husband, Billy; and Rich Sherman and his wife, Michelle; Patricia and Joseph Saita; great-nieces and nephews, Aireyal Cortese and her husband, Jason; Shane Purdy and his wife, Nina; Noelle Purdy, Destiny and Jesse Saita, and Molly Sherman; great-great-nephews, Leo Purdy and Owen Cortese.
She was also preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Joanne Sherman.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. in the Vanston and James Funeral Home, 1401 Ash St., Scranton.
Friends may call Sunday from 2 p.m. until the time of the service in the funeral home.
Private interment, Washburn Street Cemetery.
