Lucille Sadowski Obituary

Lucille Sadowski, 81, a resident of Olyphant, died Monday at Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale, after an illness. She was the wife of Henry Sadowski. They were married for 62 years.

Born in Olyphant, daughter of the late John and Lucy Bogdanowicz Kulick, she graduated from Olyphant High School and was a seamstress at Barbizon Corp., Jessup. She was a member of Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick's Church, Olyphant.

She will always be remembered for her excellent baking, especially during the holidays.

Also surviving are a daughter, Jeanette and husband, John Grutkowski, Hunlock Creek; two grandchildren, Amy Acevedo, Everett, Mass.; and Johnathan Grutkowski, Portland, Ore.; and a great-grandchild, Brookelynn Acevedo, Everett.

She was also preceded in death by two infant children, Mary and Henry Jr.; and a brother, Edward Kulick.

The funeral will be Saturday at 9 a.m. from the Michael Wargo Jr. Funeral Home, 812 E. Scott St., Olyphant, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 in Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick's Church, Delaware Street, Olyphant, to be celebrated by the Rev. Thomas Muldowney, pastor. Interment, St. Michael's Cemetery, Blakely. Friends may call Friday, 4 to 7 p.m.
